In April, Mr. ETT and I travelled to the New Zealand’s North Island. I won’t torture you with my daily musings on the trip – instead, I’ll be a gracious host and keep it to two posts, one for each week we were travelling. I’ll also have a summary post for the financially minded that will detail the ways we saved (and lost) money on the trip. Why New Zealand’s North Island? Originally, we had planned on travelling to Japan. In preparation, at the end of 2016, Mr. ETT and I both applied for annual leave. Unfortunately, a close family member was taken ill, then passed away early this year. ... Show Me More!
Long weekends away to towns that are within a reasonable distance of our home is one of the reasons Mr. ETT and I have decided to invest. We want to buy “future” us the opportunity to do this as the whim takes us, without having to juggle our time or fill in pieces of paper asking permission to take leave from work. Our most recent trip was to Mudgee, in the Central West of NSW. When I logged into our Siteground account the other day, a lovely image offering a series of free gifts for the holiday season greeted me. How festive! How generous. I had two weeks to mull them over in my Christmas induced food coma before accepting with abandon. But wait… there’s more. A little too much more, once you excitedly unwrap those babies, tear off the pretty paper and pull them out of the box. Free Wildcard SSL for 1 Year SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer. This technology encrypts data to and from websites and should be well on its way to becoming ubiquitous. Even Google has stated that all other things being ... Show Me More!
This is just a quick aside (and a chance for me to see what the “Aside” format of my WordPress theme looks like) to point you to the Rockstar Finance Forums if you haven’t already visited. I’ve only been a member for a few days, but I’ve not only enjoyed myself, I’ve received some really valuable answers to questions I’ve asked. It’s a place for all personal finance/FIRE people to hang out and chat. It would be good to see more Aussies there as well! If you decide to sign up… Head to my poll I’m curious as to what walks of life we FI people come from. Results so ... Show Me More!
